First Draft offers a writers community where you are known by your writing. The First Draft membership is diverse in background, interest, age, and geography. We are drawn together by a love for the written word and a common desire to communicate and create.

By the end of even-numbered month, each of the members publishes their personal ‘zine on this website. Yes, we even provide you with deadlines!

Each ‘zine contains creative works -- such as novels-in-progress, short stories, scripts, poetry, comics, and essays. Members are also required to post feedback and critiques of the contributions from previous editions of First Draft. Where we once published our 'zines on paper and distributed them through the mail. Now we are the writers’ group that meets in your (e)mailbox, and boy, do we save on postage!
